This festival season, let there be light, love and tolerance.

We live in a world that is getting increasingly divided and polarized. We are probably the only species that kills and hates.

Deepavali — or Diwali as it is popularly known by it’s Anglicized name — is the festival of lights. It’s not just about fireworks and lamps. The larger significance of the festival is to bring light into our lives.

Here’s wishing that this festival brings the light of love into our lives. Love not just romantic kind, but love towards fellow humans and all life forms. Unless we learn to coexist and love every form of life around us, we may not be leaving a planet worth living for future generations.

So let us pledge to live towards sustainability and unconditional love is all we need to make it happen.
