Being a father is a role of immense responsibility. A father charts the path for his child, is often the role model the child looks up to and the sculptor of the next generation.
I was blessed to have a father who was more a best friend, philosopher and guide. A man who encouraged independent thinking and taught me that it was ok to be wrong, but not ok to give up. I lost my father nearly two decades ago and it still feels like yesterday.
I miss him with every breath I take, every single day. I wish I could tell him just once more how much I loved him.
For all you fathers out there, hats off to you. You are all special and I wish you a very happy father’s day. To those of you who have a father, I hope you appreciate what you have and make your father’s day special. And to those like me, who miss their father…I share your pain.
